What is EROSION CONTROL SHEET?

A new method of revetment covered with plants to protect against erosion by reinforcing the erosion resistance of plants

RivergreenTM is a new method of revetment work for erosion protection by reinforcing erosion-proof ability of plants. It was developed through a collaborative project by AGT and the River Lab.of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, whose title is“Studies on sheet material which is able to control erosion and luxuriance of plants".

The sheet is leachy and has air gaps bigger than soil grain. It can reduce the eroding force towards the ground.(current speed) To less than critical upset ratio to corrosion.

Features of RIVERGREEN ™

RivergreenTM forms the crossings of polypropylene fiber which has capsule and core structure into three-dimensional structure with heat-sealing. It can maintain high porosity and strength without using binder such as adhesive.

Features of RIVERGREEN
  • Outstanding erosion-proof capability
The sheet is entirely heat-sealed, which makes the crossings of fiber bonded evenly with adequate strength, and also it has very high compression recovery properties. Therefore it makes even three dimensional net keeping high erosion resistance.
  • Outstanding strength and workability
The sheet has flexibility, so there is no deformation or damages to decrease the high erosion resistance. It is easy to bond and repair the sheets by heat-sealing process.
  • Outstanding soil-filling capacity
With high porosity of soil filling can be performed efficiently and appropriately regardless of dry type or wet type.
  • Burning resistance
Even when a fire breaks out on the sheet, the sheet would not catch fire nor the fire spread out.

BONDING RIVERGREEN™ AT SITE

1.Bonding by butt sealing
One of the features of RIVERGREENTM is heat-sealing can be performed at site with heated air. The bonded section is as strong as the rest of the sheet. Thus, material loss can be decreased significantly compared with overlapping method.
