| AKM Announces Versatile Digital Video Decoder Supporting NTSC/PAL/SECAM Color Encoding Formats |
| Tokyo, Japan, June 9, 2010-Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corp. (AKM) today announced the AK8859VN, a digital video decoder offering stepped-up AKM video decoder-family strength in terms of features and functionality, such as adaptive two-dimensional Y/C separation, is designed for audio-visual equipment, automotive systems, security equipment, and other digital video capture/conversion products. The AK8859VN uses adaptive two-dimensional Y/C separation processing to automatically detect and convert composite NTSC/PAL/SECAM color encoding formats and S(Y/C) video signals to YCbCr digital video data conforming to ITU-R BT.656. Thoroughgoing review of the hitherto AKM video decoder-family’s circuitry and functionality during development significantly improves the scale of downsizing and yields an ideally-balanced ultralow power and cost performance solution that will fully support high profile positioning of digital video equipment in the global marketplace. Other AK8859VN features include AGC, 10-bit MHz ADC, two analog input channels, I2C control, VBI signal decoding, and image adjustment. The AK8859VN is available in a 32-pin 5 [Features] |
