- Digital Automatic Power Control (APC) executes current and voltage
control for bias and modulation current, and maintains optical power
of Laser Diode (LD) constant
- Programmable output (current or voltage) is controlled by on-chip
temperature sensor (APC_FF)
- Digital feedback circuit has stable characteristics and compensates
LD aging (APC_FB)
- I-DAC-2 (0 to 85mA, 8bits) controls bias current of LD
I-DAC-1 (0 to 10mA, 8bits) or V-DAC-3 (0 to 2.2V, 8bits) controls modulation
current of LD
- LD power leveling function is supported by either hardware pin control
or register setting
- On-chip EEPROM stores adjustment data for each optical module
- TXFAULT assertion and 1K bits ID field (EEPROM) for SFP-MSA (Small
Form-factor Pluggable transceiver - MultiSource Agreement) support
- Adjustment for each optical module is executed via 2-wired digital
Interface
- Various alarm functions support LD aging, over-current and exceptional
temperature
- Self-running operation with on-chip oscillator
- Single 3.3V +/- 0.2V operation
