Asahi Kasei E-materials has begun construction of a new plant for production of SUNFORT™ dry film photoresist (dry film) in Changshu, Jiangsu, China. The new plant will have a production capacity of 120 million m2/year, with start-up scheduled for September 2013.

Dry film is used to form circuit patterns on printed wiring boards used in PCs and tablet PCs, mobile phones and smartphones, and automotive electronics. Asahi Kasei E-materials is a leading supplier of dry film not only in Japan, but also in China, Taiwan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. Currently, Asahi Kasei E-materials has two production bases for dry film master rolls, in Fuji, Shizuoka, Japan, and Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. To continue to meet further growing demand for dry film, Asahi Kasei E-materials decided to construct its third dry film plant in Changshu, Jiangsu, China, with a production capacity of 120 million m2/year, and established Asahi Kasei Electronics Materials (Changshu) Co., Ltd. for this purpose.

Moving forward, the new subsidiary in Changshu will serve as a base not only for additional expansions of dry film capacity, but also for the manufacture and sale of other products of Asahi Kasei E-materials.
