Asahi Kasei Fibers Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Asahi Fibers") provides this policy for the protection of privacy and personal information of the user (hereinafter referred to as "User") of the fibers & textiles products information site which Asahi Fibers operates (hereinafter referred to as "Site") .

1. Asahi Fibers may ask the User to register the User's personal information and associate the personal information of the User with content downloads made by the User. Asahi Fibers will not disclose or provide the personal information provided by the User to third parties except in the event that:

(1) The User consents to the disclosure in advance;

(2) The disclosure is made in a manner that the identity of the User cannot be distinguished;

(3) The disclosure is made to the minimum extent necessary to a firm (toll manufacturer or the like, for example) which has already executed secrecy agreement with Asahi Fibers;

(4) It is deemed appropriate that a reply to an inquiry be made by an affiliate of Asahi Fibers or the like which has executed a secrecy agreement with Asahi Fibers; or

(5) The disclosure is otherwise required pursuant to laws or ordinances.


2. Asahi Fibers will maintain the confidentiality of the User's information, but may use it for the following purposes:

(1) To improve the Site by recording and analyzing information of records of which the User made access to the Site;

(2) To contact with the User in the course of marketing products relevant to the Site.


3. Asahi Fibers will exercise appropriate care in the management of the User's personal information and will keep the User's personal information within a secure environment where unauthorized persons cannnot obtain access to it. Asahi Fibers will employ strict security measures to ensure against the loss, misuse, alteration, or the like of the User's personal information.


4. Asahi Fibers will respond reasonably and quickly to the desire of the User to inquire, confirm, or modify its personal information.


5. Asahi Fibers will observe relevant laws and ordinances and other norms with respect to protection of the User's personal information.
