Leukocytapheresis (LCAP)

Leukocytapheresis (LCAP) is an extracorporeal blood circulation therapy in which leukocytes (granulocytes, monocytes, and lymphocytes) causing inflammation and/or autoimmune response are removed. LCAP therapy is indicated for inflammatory bowel disease including ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease as a new therapeutic option for patients who do not show sufficient improvement with conventional medication (such as corticosteroids).
