
The effort to prevent workplace accidents is integrated in a comprehensive OHSMS1 program that combines conventional safety initiatives—such as tidiness/orderliness/cleanliness, reporting of near-accidents and potential hazards, hazard prediction analysis, safety patrols, and case studies—with risk assessments and a prevention-oriented plan-do-check-act system.
1 Occupational Health and Safety Management System. A standardized management system used to confirm that continuous improvement is being applied to measures to minimize the risks of workplace injuries and to prevent the emergence of future risks.
In the Asahi Kasei Group’s efforts to promote and maintain employee health, we provide both physical and mental health checkups. We are working to decrease the number of personnel with mental health issues or in need of management, and are caring for employees’ mental and physical health by promoting health maintenance and fitness activities.
In accordance with our conviction that making good products starts with a good workplace environment, we pursue corporate activities linked to the local communities where we operate around the world and promote communication with locally hired staff, while building a workplace environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and values of people both inside and outside the company.

With the goal of zero workplace accidents, we apply OHSMS (occupational health and safety management system) and pursue activities to promote standard safety procedures.

Asahi Safety Training (AST) is given to employees in charge of core development and manufacturing operations at Asahi Kasei Medical. This two-day intensive training course teaches basic safety procedures and raises awareness of safety issues.
