The Speech Solutions (the former name; Voice Interface Project) at Asahi Kasei was established in August 2000 for the commercialization as middleware of voice recognition and voice compression/decompression solutions from ongoing R&D work dating back to 1985 at Asahi Kasei's Central Technology Laboratory. TTS and hands-free middleware have also been developed. The Voice Interface Project provides voice middleware solutions for a variety of applications in a wide range of fields. VORERO voice recognition middleware operates on a range of platforms, from low-MIPS MPUs to high-MIPS MPUs and from ARM and SH embedded systems to Windows PCs. VORERO features scalability and outstanding robustness to background noise, providing practical interface solutions in cellular phone, PDA, automotive, and home electronics applications. MMEV voice compression/decompression middleware features high compression rates, high sound quality, and compatibility with standard 8 kHz and 11 kHz sampling rate embedded systems. VOStalk Japanese-language TTS middleware, based on Asahi Kasei voice technology, features compact size, high-quality sound, and natural prosody with low processor load and low memory requirements. VOCLE hands-free middleware features high performance echo cancellation and high performance noise suppression, providing an optimal solution in hands-free system. |
