CHIMEI CORPORATION's Polycarbonate WONDERLITE®

Asahi Kasei Chemicals is the first company in the world to develop a polycarbonate manufacturing process using carbon dioxide as a raw material.
Using the above-mentioned technology, Chimei Corporation (Taiwan) manufactures WONDERLITE®

Features
  • Environmentally friendly

The manufacturing process of WONDERLITE® does not require phosgene and methylene chloride, both of which are used in the conventional method (phosgene method) and are highly toxic.

  • Easy to mold

Mold corrosion and mold deposit, which are problems of the conventional method (phosgene method), are drastically diminished.

  • Less mold corrosion by chlorine, which is a problem of the conventional method.
  • Less oligomers and less mold deposit, which occurs during manufacturing, result in a decrease in maintenance frequency with a productivity enhancement.
  • Excellent liquidity enables molding of thin-wall structures or complex shapes and can lower the molding temperature.
