We are pleased to announce that Bemberg has participated in as a first Japanese company in Lakmé Fashion Week, the biggest fashion event in India.
This event is held in every February and August in Mumbai, India. This year, because of pandemic, Lakmé Fashion Week winter festive 2020 which was planned to be held in this August, will take place in October and in the digital format for the very first time. Bemberg will participate in Sustainable Fashion Day on 22th October, in collaboration with a Designer, Hemang Agrawal working in Varanasi (traditionally known as Benares), the city of his birth which is widely renowned as the handloom-weaving capital of India, because of its centuries old weaving communities that specialize in typical brocades.
We hope that this fruitful collaboration of Japanese sustainable fiber Bemberg™ and Indian traditional craftsman via Designer Hemang Agrawal will certainly be helpful to increase the demand of the weavers at national and international levels.

Time: 22th October, 18:00 IST

Message from Hemang Agrawal
Lakmé Fashion Week has been a strong stakeholder in the resurgence of Indian textile crafts over last few years & we look forward to being a part of its first digital edition. We are excited to associate with Asahi Kasei Corporation, Japan for our "Tattva" collection being showcased on the Sustainable Fashion day. This partnership envisions sustainability as the processes impacting craft cultures, livelihoods & environment rather than just as a product USP. Beyond the individual brands, this association also signifies coming together of two of the oldest textile traditions of the world- Benares (Varanasi) & Japan.
