Showcasing Our Initiatives in Africa at the Japan Fair Held During TICAD9

We exhibited at the “Japan Fair,” held from August 20 to 22, 2025, at Pacifico Yokohama, in conjunction with the TICAD9 conference period. Our booth was featured in the “Japanese Companies Active in Africa” zone.
This event, organized by JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) and the Africa Business Council, aimed to foster new business partnerships between Japan and Africa. A record-breaking 196 companies participated, and the venue welcomed numerous government officials and business leaders, facilitating vibrant exchanges.

At our booth, we showcased product samples of “BemBAZIN™,” a traditional West African wear known as Bazin, made with fabrics using Bemberg™ yarn. In addition, we introduced the “Bazin Dyers Support Project,” a collaborative initiative with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Italian luxury textile manufacturer Brunello S.p.A., which addresses social challenges in Mali’s dyeing industry.

This project aims to enhance the sustainability of traditional industries in Mali through the following activities:
•Distribution and promotion of protective gear for dyeing workers
•Installation of solar-powered water supply systems
•Training programs to improve digital skills and hygiene awareness
•Implementation of health checkups

We also presented actual samples to demonstrate that Bemberg™ is a regenerated cellulose fiber made from cotton linter (the fuzz surrounding cotton seeds). Many visitors showed interest in its environmentally conscious properties and its fusion with traditional culture to create new value.
As few exhibitors focused on traditional wear, our unique booth attracted many visitors who stopped to engage with the display.
