Welcome to the REVO SERIES – the next step in flexographic printing. Asahi Photoproducts introduces two new plate series: AWP™-REVO and AFP™-REVO. Both are designed to reduce the use of chemicals and support a cleaner, more efficient platemaking process with consistent, high-quality print results.
The REVO SERIES combines modern technology with simplified workflows to produce plates faster and more reliably, while lowering environmental impact. Whether you use water or solvent processing, you benefit from the same stable quality, powered by Asahi’s CleanPrint technology.
AWP™-REVO
It’s time for a REVOlution in flexo.
Water-based.
No detergents. Next generation plates!
Powered by water. Driven by REVOlution.
Key Benefits
- Safety: Reduced consumption of chemicals
- Efficiency: Faster platemaking under 1 hour High printing efficiency (Clean Print)

AWP™-REVO versions:
Available in two types: Round top type (AWP™-REVO WHR) and Flat top type (AWP™-REVO WHF) Asahi Photoproducts is committed to a future without
solvents – a future that protects people and the planet.
AWP™-REVO Ecosystem
Part of a connected clean
AWP™-REVO water-washable plate
Designed for eco-conscious efficiency, this innovative plate requires water for processing—completely eliminating the need for detergents. It delivers exceptional high-resolution print quality while significantly reducing press downtime. With consistent performance and simplified handling, it’s the smart choice for streamlined operations and sustainable printing

AWP™-REVO 2530AA Plate Processor
A compact, all-in-one processor engineered for small-format plate sizes. It features a user-friendly interface, refined brush design for easy washout, and optimized fine-screening capabilities to ensure consistent color reproduction.
AWP-LOOP™ Petite recycling unit
A closed-loop water recycling unit that uses Asahi Kasei’s Microza™ membrane filtration technology to recover and reuse up to 90% of the process water. This significantly reduces wastewater and operating costs, enabling a more sustainable and efficient platemaking workflow. This solution is expected to be commercially available soon.

By integrating these components, the AWP™ Ecosystem sets a new benchmark for detergent-free, small-format flexo platemaking, delivering both sustainability and enhanced productivity.
AWP™-REVO plates feature Asahi’s CleanPrint technology.
The plate surface is engineered to transfer more of the ink to the substrate, which means fewer press stops for plate cleaning. The result: stable color throughout the run, less waste, and more productive press time. CleanPrint helps operators maintain quality at speed—shift after shift.
Beyond efficiency, CleanPrint also enhances print quality. Excellent ink transfer ensures solid densities and smooth tonal transitions, with highlight dots fading down to zero for seamless image reproduction. This makes it possible to migrate jobs from other printing technologies without loss of detail or vibrancy.
For the pressroom, fewer interruptions mean not only higher uptime but also reduced substrate waste and consumable use, supporting a more sustainable production process. And because AWP™-REVO plates are compatible with solvent-, water-, and most UV-based inks, printers gain the flexibility to serve a wide range of applications with consistent, high-quality results.

NO INK FILL-IN

- In the video: The Standard plate is shown at the top, while the CleanPrint plate appears at the bottom.
- Water Drop Test: Two drops of water are applied to each plate. When tilted, the water drop on the CleanPrint plate runs off easily, demonstrating its superior surface properties.
- Ink Transfer Efficiency: This behavior mirrors what happens during printing—ink transfers completely from the CleanPrint plate to the substrate, leaving no residue behind.
- Operational Advantage: The result is a consistently clean plate, reducing the need for press stops and eliminating frequent cleaning intervals, which translates to higher productivity and lower downtime.
Stable color, less waste, higher press uptime.
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a critical metric for profitable flexographic printing operations. CleanPrint plates deliver up to 33% improvement in OEE over other plates, driving up availability, performance and quality like no other.

AFP™-REVO
The REVOlution in solvent platemaking.
Leading the way to Solvent ZERO.
Premium quality
Faster platemaking.
Less solvent.
Reducing the usage of washout chemistry
As part of the REVO SERIES together with AWP™‑REVO, AFP™‑REVO is designed to use less washout chemistry and speed up platemaking, helping create a safer and more efficient process. It is another milestone on our road to Solvent ZERO, combining modern plate technology with simplified workflows. For films, paper and label applications, AFP™‑REVO is available in two versions: AFP™‑REVO HR (Round top plate) and AFP™‑REVO HF (Flat top plate), delivering premium print quality with faster turnaround and reduced environmental impact.

Product Features Include:
- Faster plate washout speed vs. standard solvent plates.
- Significant drying energy reduction and plate drying time from 120 to 60 min*.
- Thanks to a unique plate structure reduced washout chemistry is used.
- Premium quality printing compared to today’s standard solvent plates.

Principle technology difference between a standard solvent wash and AFP™-REVO plate.
Why AFP™‑REVO washes out faster? Conventional solvent plates need the whole polymer to dissolve in the solvent. AFP™‑REVO is different: only part of the polymer dissolves; other components are removed as small particles. This speeds up washout, reduces time in solvent, and shortens drying.
Conventional Plate

AFP™-REVO Plate

A simple analogy
Think of a solid milk chocolate bar versus a puffed‑rice chocolate. The puffed‑rice bar has more surface and less mass to melt, so it melts faster. AFP™‑REVO works in a similar way: the structure gives the solvent better access, so less needs to dissolve and washout is faster — with shorter drying as a result.

AFP™-REVO requires less polymer to be dissolved during washout, which increases plate washout speed. Shorter solvent contact time also means reduced plate swelling and shorter drying times helping to make the entire platemaking process faster and more efficient.

*Outcome in production: faster plate washout, less swelling, and drying time reduced from 120 to 60 min.
