HIPORE™
HIPORE™ is Asahi Kasei's polyolefin film, used in a wide range of high-technology fields, such as lithium ion battery separators.
The membranes look like plastic films, but are actually filled with microscopic pores. HIPORE™ is high-performance microporous membrane with wide range of thickness and highly uniform pores.

Applications of HIPORE™
- Batteries
Batteries are indispensable for mobile electronics products. HIPORE™ is widely used as a separator in lithium ion rechargeable batteries and primary lithium batteries, having earned an outstanding reputation for high performance and safety. HIPORE™ separators are under development for a variety of other types of battery.
- Capacitors
Demand is growing rapidly for double-layer capacitors as power back-ups to preserve data stored in the memory of mobile telephones, VCRs, and other electronic devices. HIPORE™ separators are widely used in such capacitors.
On the Intellectual Property Rights Relating to HIPORE™
Our company is the proprietor of multiple domestic and international patent rights covering a particular separator for use in a lithium ion secondary battery(HiporeTM). If it is your intention to produce, offer, put on the market, use, or import or possess for one or more of these purposes a separator for a lithium ion secondary battery, a lithium ion secondary battery making use of said separator or a final product making use of said battery, please pay special care and attention such that, in doing so, you do not violate any of Asahi Kasei's intellectual property rights.
