Certified for the 1.5°C Target under the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

Asahi Kasei Life Science Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Ken Shinomiya) is pleased to announce that on August 21, the company received official validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets aligned with the 1.5°C goal set forth in the Paris Agreement.

SCIENCE BASED TARGETS DRIVING AMBITIOUS CORPORATE CLIMATE ACTION

The Science-Based Targets (SBTs) are corporate GHG emissions reduction targets that are consistent with the goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, as outlined in the Paris Agreement. The SBTi is an international organization that assesses and approves whether such targets are scientifically robust and aligned with climate science.
