High & low temperature changeovers

Changeovers between high-temperature resins and replacing super-engineering plastics with low-temperature resins are significant challenges. Here is how Asaclean™ supports you.

High & low temperature changeovers

Partner in High & low-temperature changeovers

Changeover from super-engineering plastics, which are moulded at high temperatures, to low-temperature resins is difficult because of the loss of resin flowability. Even when switching from one engineering plastic to another, expensive resin must be wasted due to purging. Asaclean™ reduces these problems and contributes to significant time and cost savings.

Successful changeovers high-temperature resins with Asaclean™

Switching from engineering plastics moulded at high temperatures to low-temperature resins may take a long time or be difficult to replace entirely due to the reduced fluidity of the high-temperature resin. Conversely, when switching from low-temperature resin to high-temperature resin, if you increase the temperature while low-temperature resin remains, scorching will occur, including carbonized contamination.

Asaclean™ offers grades for engineering plastics (high-temperature resins) such as PX2 Grade and PF Grade. You can utilize it to optimize the changeover cost of high-temperature resins.

67%

In the case of changing from super engineering plastics to PEI, the PEI required for the changeover was reduced by approximately 67%*.

Maximize the effectiveness of changeover from high-temp to low-temp resins

The following is an example of replacing PEI moulded at 370℃ with POM set at 190℃, sequentially using PX2 Grade and U Grade. PX2 Grade is a high cleaning power grade specialized for high-temperature and super engineering plastics. First, PEI is purged with PX2 Grade, weighed for one shot, and lowered to 290℃ (the temperature at which U overlaps). Weigh out the weighed PX2 Grade, switch to U Grade, and purge again. Discharge the weighed U Grade and switch to POM to complete the displacement.

Replacing PEI with POM without expensive, super engineering plastics sequentially using PX2 and U Grades.

The equipment is old, and continuous moulding of PEEK and other materials causes problems such as generating contamination, so using Asaclean™ is essential.

No need to clean with expensive materials

Super engineering plastics are expensive materials. Switching from the previous resin to the next using such expensive materials can add much cost depending on the resin combination.

With Asaclean™'s grades for high-temperature resins, you can quickly drain the previous resin and promptly replace it with the next resin. Easy replacement reduces the use of expensive resins and minimizes lost opportunities by reducing operation time.
