ROICA DS is a spandex which has a high dyeing ability against Acid dye staff. Not just the color black, it can also dye in wide range of colors.

ROICA SF ( Smart Fix) is a spandex that has an adhesive ability.

Starting with Panty hose, inner & outer wear, and expands in wider range of usage.

It was the first time to exhibit with the double brands, Roica and Dorlastan. Both of
the brands appealed their advantage points at the exhibition. Each of the brands
presented their functional yarns and getting wide range of the customer.
Also, Bemberg div. and Polyester div. of Asahi-Kasei had their booth next to Roica. It
made Asahi-Kasei appeal to the world as a multi version material holdings group at
this exhibition.

Asahi-Kasei was exhibited in the ANEX 2006, one of the world's greatest exhibitions of the nonwovens industry, as ROICA&DORLASTAN brand for the first time.
Promoted mainly were coarser filaments, which are applicable for diapers and hygienic products.
An exhibition in which the worldwide suppliers of such products participated is absolutely attractive for our company as an opportunity to introduce our brands and spandex. We would then expect to promote to those exhibitions thereafter.

ASAHI KASEI FIBERS CORPORATION established " Asahi Kasei Spandex Europe GmbH " in Germany and " Asahi Kasei Spandex America L.L.C. (tentative name)" in U.S.A. Those two companies are handling DORLASTAN business.
Including exited 4 factories in Asia; we have now additionally those two factories. These six factories make us possible to realize our policy " on site production, on site sales ".
In obtaining two brands " ROICA" and " DORLASTAN ", it became possible for us to furnish to our customer our products more precisely suiting to their requirements. In getting deeper access with European and American market through those two companies, it also eases us to accelerate the development of new fields business. |

RoicaHP is the sixth in the series of
Roicaperformance yarns. It brings the future into
the present. The HP stands for high performance,
well beyond the bounds of ordinary spandex
in power, durability, compatibility, processability,
and the overall performance envelope. The
1 June market launch begins with the introduction
of fine-denier and other Roica HP raw yarns, in selections for both innerwear
and outerwear applications. |

models Liu Duo of China and Kana Watari of
Japan were the center of attention at Asahi
Kasei Swimwear 2004 in Shanghai on May 8 and
9 and at Tokyo on May 26, as they displayed
the industry-leading trends and fashions in
swimwear for the coming season. It was the
first swimwear show to feature the lead-model from China and Japan, and they won the
hearts and applause of visitors from the world
of fashion, industry, and everyday life in
these and many other countries. The summer
2004 selection included fashion designs made
with regular Roica,
advanced sports designs featuring the chlorine-resistant
RoicaSP, and other industry-leading designs in
style, function, and comfort, as shown by
some of these show-stopping Scenes from Swimwear
2004. |

Showroom in Shanghai |

The
new Asahi Kasei Showroom, located on Yanan
Road (West) in central Shanghai, officially
opened on 1 April 2004. It replaces the original
Asahi Kasei Showroom which opened a year earlier
at the same address. With its larger quarters
and new interior design, it shows an enlarged
array of fabrics and apparel produced with
yarns from Asahi Kasei, and accompanying showcases
and display panels. As an important sales
and marketing base for Roicafabrics in China, the showroom features a
rich variety of sportswear, innerwear, and
outerwear fabric hangers and apparel based
on the high-performance Roicayarns. |

The
new RoicaHP and other Roicaperformance yarns, fabrics, and products in
a broad selection were on display at Expofil
in Paris, winning applause and interest from
converters, apparel makers, and many other
visitors. The crowds at Expofil were especially
large this season, as it was the first simultaneous
convening of Expofil alongside of Premiere Vision,
Europe's largest fabrics exhibition.

February 2002 Announcement for the establishment
of
Roica production base in China |
|
|

A new Roicaproduction facility will be constructed
in China, targeted to come on-stream in
April 2003. The facility will be located
in the Hangzhou Economic and Technological
Development Zone, at Hangzhou City in Zhejiang
Province. With production and marketing
operation by a new Chinese subsidiary established
for this purpose, the base will serve a
rapidly growing demand for spandex in China
arising from domestic Chinese, Japanese-affiliate,
and other customers in the Chinese market.
The new production base
is part of the globalization of production,
marketing, and supply for Roica.
In Asia, this expansion has been marked
during the past few years by the operations
of the Roicawarp-knit fabrics subsidiary Hangzhou Asahi
Textiles Co.,Ltd.,located adjacent to the
site of the new Roicaspandex facility, and by the establishment
of the joint venture Formosa Asahi Spandex
Co., Ltd.in Taiwan with a current Roicaproduction capacity of 5000 tons per year. |

from leading converters, apparel, core-
spun, and yarn manufacturers, and other
organizations joined in the RoicaConvention at Lombardia, Italy. It was the
first ever held outside Japan, as part of
the strategic marketing phase of the program
for Roicaglobal development and growth.
With the leadership and coordination of
Mr. Belletti and Ms. Bignami of the Elementi
Moda fashion planning house, and key discussions
and interviews with Ms. Altamira, buyer
for Italy's leading department store, and
other industry leaders, the accent was on
the role and potentials of Roica for fashion
as well as for function and performance,
and the convention was highly animated,
creative, and informative in spirit and
content. |

September 2001 Seminar on techniques for covering
yarn with spandex |
|
|
|
More
than 160 participants from the weaving and
dyeing centers in the Bishu district of Japan
participated in a seminar at the Aichi Owari
Textile Technical Center. The seminar was
directed toward the improvement of know-how
and expertise in the techniques of superior
woven fabric production. Experts from the
Roicatechnical staff provided a key focus of the
seminar, with lectures and discussions on
the production of covering yarn with spandex. |

The May 2001 market
introduction of RoicaCF was announced in February 2001, with
immediate and widespread interest in this
newly developed spandex. Roica CF is the world's first deodorizing spandex
to be produced by dry spinning. It effectively
absorbs the odors of sweat components and
other substances even after a number of
washings, as the odor absorbing action is
inherent to the polymer itself, rather than
an effect added by finishing or processing. |
