Overview of Social Issues

The traditional dyeing sector in Mali is a cultural and economic heritage. However, the use of chemicals that are harmful to health and the environment is a major subject for women dyers and the sustainability of the industry. Health problems associated with chemical exposure include skin and respiratory problems, while the environment is also affected by current practices. These challenges threaten the continuity and sustainability of traditional dyeing techniques.

Bazin and BemBAZIN

Bazin is a traditional textile widely used in West and Central Africa, known for its signature sheen and vivid colors. This fabric is often worn for special occasions such as weddings and festivals, forming an integral part of African cultural identity. In Mali, in particular, Bazin's beauty and craftsmanship are highly valued, with hand-dyeing and embroidery being common practices.

BemBAZIN™ combines the luxurious feel and comfort of Bemberg™ with the traditional appeal of Bazin, made in Italy by Brunello. The fabric offers a three-dimensional look and patterns, ensuring comfort even in Africa's hot climate.
