Being an industrial material that brings out the properties of ultrahigh molecular-weight polyethylene, it will contribute to solution of various problems.
-
Using its excellent properties of wear resistance, impact resistance, and chemical resistance, ultrahigh molecular-weight polyethylene
(Sunfine™UH) with a molecular weight of 3.3 to 4.5 million developed and manufactured by Asahi Kasei is offered as industrial materials and components, such as pipes, rods, and guide rails.
- In addition to our standardized products that boast various sizes, we respond to requests for manufacture of rollers and equipment based on the above- mentioned materials.
- Properties of these products, such as impact resistance and chemical resistance, are overwhelmingly more excellent than other plastics. Applications of our materials cover a wide area, such as industrial parts and materials.
Features
- -Wear resistance
Better wear resistance than cast nylon, polyacetal, and steel. Prevents wear of mating materials. - -Coefficient of friction
As low as approximately 0.12. Self-lubricating material. - -Abrasion resistance, shock absorption
High abrasion resistance and shock absorption prevent scratching of the product surface.
Can reduce noise generation accompanying conveyance. - -Cold resistance
Exhibit excellent impact resistance even at -40°C. - -Hygiene
Passed specification tests of the specifications and standards for foods and additives
(Notification No. 370 by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Category: Operating temperature of not higher than 100°C). - -Chemical resistance
Excellent resistance to many types of chemicals. - -Non-adherability
Prevents adhesion of snow, soil, sand and slurry. Extraneous matters can be easily removed. - - Lightweight
Specific gravity is 0.94. One of the lightest engineering plastics.

Handling cautions
The information in this material is based on currently available materials, information, and data, and may be updated if new findings are discovered.
-
(1) Precautions for handling
-
(a) Precautions for combustion
Because the AS products are flammable, handle and store them away from heat and ignition sources.
If they catch fire, carbon monoxide, a toxic gas, may be generated.
For firefighting, use water, foam extinguishers, or powder extinguishers. -
(b) Precautions for handling
· To work with your AS product, be sure to wear protective equipment (protective glasses, protective gloves, and protective boots). If you fail to take the above-mentioned measure, you might have your hand or finger or thumb cut with a cutter, or your eyes may catch dust resulting from product cutting.
· Do not use your AS product outdoors as much as possible, because ultraviolet rays can cause degradation. -
(c) Precautions for disposal
Entrust disposal of your product to an approved industrial waste disposer or your local government.
If you intend to burn your AS product by yourself, use an incineration system and an incineration method compliant with the Air Pollution Prevention Law and other related laws and regulations.
-
(a) Precautions for combustion
-
