On our planet, various changes are required to realize a sustainable society.

In the fashion industry as well, it is important to reduce the environmental impact and build a business model that solves social problems, from the perspectives of raw materials, production processes, and final products.

Under such circumstances, Bemberg has been changed to be more sustainable by establishing transparent procurement routes and introducing the closed-loop production system.

Since our founding, we have always adapted to the times and created new solutions. We will respect such our DNA and conduct what only Bemberg could do.

Material

The raw material of Bemberg is cotton linter* that is a pre-consumer material obtained from manufacturing process of cottonseed oil.
Bemberg is biodegradable and compostable fiber.

Reducing CO2 emissions via renewable energy and introducing a closed-loop production system, we have established the environment-friendly and traceable production system.

RCS 100

RCS 100

We are certified to the Recycled Claim Standard 100/RCS 100, which verifies recycled material and tracks it from the source to the final product.

OEKO-TEX STANDARD100

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels. Its aims is to level out global differences regarding the assessment of possible harmful substances in textiles.

ISO14001

ISO 14001 acquired

Asahi Kasei obtained ISO14001, the international standard for environment management systems, in recognition of the establishment of systems to continuously reduce and prevent the environmental impacts of its corporate activities, products and services.

  • In 2016, we implemented a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for Bemberg through the third-party organization ICEA. Based on this assessment, we are working to further reduce the environmental impact.
  • Bemberg filament (bright yarn) has been verified to be compostable by INNOVHUB-SSI examinations.

  • From 8th of January, 2022, we have switched from GRS certification to RCS 100 certification.
