AsahiKASEI

Other features

  • Does it have sound-absorbing properties?
The plastic skin ensures that it does not absorb sound. It reflects sound in the same way as general molded plastic products.
  • Does it dampen vibration?
As a foam, it is slightly better than ordinary molded plastic products.
  • Does it have antistatic properties?
SunForce itself has no antistatic properties. If necessary, surface coatings such as surfactants can be applied during secondary processing after molding.
  • Is it weather resistant?
For our test result, please see it from the URL.(Long-term durability / Weatherability
It is advisable to conduct tests individually, depending on the operating conditions.
  • Is it available in various colors?
    Currently available only in black.
  • Are fumes released when it burns?
Primarily CO2. Other fumes are similar to those released by combustion of any general plastic.
  • What are its long-term properties?
Data on changes in strength with long-term heating is available here (How good is the thermal resistance?).
  • What are its low-temperature properties?
Maximum embrittlement temperature of the modified PPE plastic itself is -100ºC. (How good is the thermal resistance?).
  • What are its electrical properties?
The modified PPE plastic material is a plastic with excellent electrical properties.
Furthermore, since SunForce contains air within the material itself, the dielectric constant and dielectric loss are lower than the plastic material.
  • What are its shock-absorbing properties?
As a low-density foam, SunForce has high rigidity and low shock-absorbing performance.
  • Is it considered incombustible?
Although it is not incombustible by itself, incombustibility is possible by combining it with, for example, a metal.
  • Is it waterproof?
A small amount of water is transmitted between beads if constantly in contact with water.
  • Why is it flame-retardant?
When SunForce ignites the surface carbonizes and immediately self-extinguishes.
  • Does it hydrolyze?
Modified PPE plastic does not readily hydrolyze.
  • Is it recyclable?
Cannot be recycled as SunForce. Use on other applications, and thermal recycling, is possible. Processing is the same as for general plastics, however care should be taken to dispose of it in accordance with the requirements for each municipality.
  • Is there a detailed evaluation of SunForce design criteria and appropriate shape?
Please contact us or the fabricator. (Product design guide)
  • Can it be printed on?
SunForce can be printed on, and painted.
  • Can it be injection molded?
The use of foam beads for steam molding means it cannot be used for injection molding.
  • Please send me samples for examination and detailed data (paper and electronic format).
Contact us via the Inquiry form.
  • Is a higher foaming ratio possible?
SunForce is designed for flame-retardancy, and the upper limit for foaming is therefore currently set at 10.
  • Does it contain any environmentally harmful substances?
No such substances are added intentionally. (Material safety)
  • What is the foaming agent used?
An inorganic gas is used for foaming. This is then replaced with air in the cells of the foam beads and molded product.
  • How is it sold?
We sell the foam beads directly to the customer.
As a molded product, SunForce is purchased from fabricators and trading companies.
  • How about sale of standard products such as sheet, board, and block materials?
We do not currently sell SunForce in these formats. Sales are currently focused solely on foam beads which can be obtained from fabricators.
Please contact us via the inquiry form if you need block material for cutting.
  • Can you supply SunForce overseas?
We have experience in molding in Europe, the US, China etc. Please contact us directly for overseas molded product dealers.
