Asahi Kasei Award for Fashion Design Creativity in China

 
Asahi Kasei and Asahi Kasei Fibers yesterday held an award ceremony for the Asahi Kasei Award for Fashion Design Creativity in China together with a fashion show of apparel featuring Bemberg™ cupro cellulosic fabric as part of China International Fashion Week in Beijing.

The Award was newly established this year by Asahi Kasei, Asahi Kasei Fibers, and the China Fashion Association, with two fashion designers being selected each year from among the top ten in China, and award presentations and fashion shows of apparel designed by the winners featuring Bemberg™ fabric held during China International Fashion Week each year in March and November.

The recipients of the Asahi Kasei Award for Fashion Design Creativity in China selected this year are Ms. Liu Wei and Mr. Zou You. Ms. Liu was presented her award yesterday, with the Spring/Summer 2008 Bemberg™ Collection fashion show of her apparel featuring Bemberg™ fabric held following the award ceremony. Mr. Zou will be presented his award during the China International Fashion Week to be held in March 2008, together with the Fall/Winter 2008/2009 Bemberg™ Collection fashion show of his apparel.

Prior to the award ceremony, a joint press conference was held by Mr. Wang Qing, President of the China Fashion Association, Mr. Shiro Hiruta, President of Asahi Kasei, and Mr. Masaki Sakamoto, President of Asahi Kasei Fibers.
