Response to the Great East Japan Earthquake
 
The Asahi Kasei Group expresses its sincere sympathy to all those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake which occurred on March 11, 2011.

The effects of this earthquake have resulted in the suspension of operation at some plants in the Asahi Kasei Group. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the many heartening words of support and encouragement which we are receiving.

On March 11, 2011, we established an emergency disaster response headquarters in Tokyo, headed by the President of Asahi Kasei Corp., to accumulate information regarding the state of damage to the Asahi Kasei Group and to coordinate measures to be taken in response.

We will work toward the safe restart of operation at the suspended plants as quickly as circumstances permit.
