High functionality beyond design
Asahi Kasei's methacrylic resin DELPET™ not only gives products a beautiful appearance, but also adds value to them. For example, we offer the PB Scratch-Resistant series, which eliminates the need for paint, the Bimodal series, which has high fluidity and solvent resistance, and the Impact-Resistant series, which can withstand strong impacts.
Achieves both jet black and scratch resistance without the need for paint
The PB Scratch-Resistant series combines a luxurious jet black color (Piano Black) with scratch resistance. This series is both deep black and hard to scratch with no painting. As a result, it is possible to eliminate the problem of reduced yields due to poor painting. The absence of paint contamination also facilitates material and chemical recycling.
High fluidity at low temperatures enables holding of large parts and improves productivity
High fluidity is required for resins when molding large products. The Bimodal series exhibits high fluidity, which enables large-size molding and complicated shape processing. Moreover, since it exhibits fluidity even at low temperatures, the cooling time after molding can be shortened and the molding cycle becomes more efficient.
The Bimodal series is also excellent in solvent resistance, so it can prevent cracking and roughening of the surface, which may occur during processes such as painting after molding.
Combining Beauty and Strength with the Impact-Resistant Series
Transparency and impact resistance are required for moving parts and parts that might be dropped. The Impact-Resistant series improves impact resistance while maintaining high transparency and weather resistance through special processing. Multiple grades are available, so you can select products that meet the strength required for your design.
We are also developing new grades to meet your needs.
We are also developing new grades in response to customer requests. If you have an issue or problem that cannot be resolved using conventional products, please consult Asahi Kasei first.
