TUFTEC™ MP10: Improving TPU Brittleness and Processability

Asahi Kasei's TUFTEC™ MP10 is a modifier for thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) that improves product performance in both low-temperature environments and high-temperature molding processes.

Details of Grades Suitable for TPU Modification

Optimal Grades for Improving TPU Brittleness and Moldability

TUFTEC™ MP10 is the ideal solution for improving the brittleness of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) at low temperatures and its moldability at high temperatures.

Modification Effect of TUFTEC™ MP10 on TPU

TUFTEC™ MP10, when added as a modifier to thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), reduces the Tg by mitigating the viscosity change on the low-temperature side, thereby improving brittleness at low temperatures. In addition, it maintains a certain level of viscosity at high temperatures, leading to high-temperature property stabilization and improved moldability.

A 50/50 blend of TPU and TUFTEC™ MP10 exhibits gradual changes in elastic modulus over a wide temperature range (especially in the low- and high-temperature regions) compared to TPU alone.

TUFTEC™ improves TPU's low-temperature performance and rapid viscosity changes at high temperatures.
