Solve problems in T-die extrusion moulding
In T-die extrusion molding, unique problems frequently occur, such as difficulty in cleaning the edge of the die, fish-eye gel formation, and burning or scorching that is likely to occur when recycled material is used in the middle layer of the sheet. Asaclean™ has a proven track record in many of these hard moldings.
Asaclean™ can solve problems inherent in T-die extrusion molding
T-die extrusion is used to produce a wide range of products, including bed liners for transportation equipment and food packaging. This process is hotter than inflation molding and is more prone to resin bridge formulation, a problem that can lead to more fish-eye and gel formation. The use of recycled material in the middle layer of the sheet may result in a burning problem that occurs with the use of recycled material in the middle layer of the sheet.
Furthermore, in T-die extrusion molding, it is often difficult to clean the die ears (end portions), and it is often necessary to give up on solving problems that arise.
Asaclean™, which is designed for cleaning plastic molding machines, can solve these problems specific to T-die extrusion.
Cleaning even of multi-layered extruders with complex structures
The production of multilayer films and sheets in T-die extrusion is a complex process that fuses different materials. Asaclean™ plays an essential role in cleaning these multilayer extruders. It removes residue and colourant buildup and prepares the machine for the next production cycle.
Although teardown is essential to avoid carbonized contamination, using newUP Grade has reduced the cleaning time by more than 40%. We want to continue using it in the future.

No need to give up dirt on the edge of the die
In the T-die extrusion process, contamination at the edge of the die can affect quality, and Asaclean™ can address this problem. Asaclean™ is particularly effective in tackling contamination in areas that are difficult to access, cleaning every inch of the die and removing resin buildup. High performance makes maintenance easier and supports the daily production of high-quality products.
We operate the extrude almost daily to mould various grades of PE resin with different filler types and content ratios. Whenever we stop the extruder, we clean T-die with U Grade, and the screw is disassembled and cleaned.
